Diagonals of a rhombus: 1) 6m and 8m. 2) 12cm and 16cm. 3) 1 dm and 2.4 dm. calculate the side of the rhombus

The diagonals of the rhombus intersect at right angles and at the intersection point they are divided in half, then the triangle AOB is rectangular, AO = AC / 2, BO = BD / 2.

1) AO = 8/2 = 4 cm, BO = 6/2 = 3 cm, then AB ^ 2 = AO ^ 2 + BO ^ 2 = 16 + 9 = 25.

AB = 5 cm.

2) AO = 16/2 = 8 cm, BO = 12/2 = 6 cm, then AB ^ 2 = AO ^ 2 + BO ^ 2 = 64 + 36 = 100.

AB = 10 cm.

3) AO = 4/2 = 2 cm, BO = 2/2 = 1 cm, then AB ^ 2 = AO ^ 2 + BO ^ 2 = 5 + 1 = 6.

AB = √6 cm.
