The troops of Alexander the Great set out on a campaign in 334 BC. At first, the lands of Asia Minor were under their blow. Then in 333 BC, after the battle of Issus, they moved south towards Egypt. In 331 BC, the Greco-Macedonian troops continued their offensive to the east – to Central Asia. By 327 BC, almost all the lands of the Persian Empire were in the hands of Alexander. In 326 BC, Alexander sets out on a campaign against India. After that, his army returned to Susa in 324 BC.
