Although the differences are great, which is understandable, common features can be found. This is, first of all, minimalism – a modern artist tries to convey his idea with meager means, which is also typical for primitive rock paintings. They are united by a certain negligence, which is very common among modern creators. In today’s art, one can clearly see a craving for simplicity and primitivism. And their main difference is that if contemporary art is aimed at creating cultural values, then the primitive did not strive for this. It strove for the unity of man with nature, the desire to overcome it.
