The blood plasma contains 90% water and 10% dry matter.

The dry matter contains organic and inorganic substances.

Organic substances (8-9%) include: proteins (albumins, globulins, fibrinogen), lipids, carbohydrates (glucose), enzymes, vitamins, hormones. Bilirubin, uric acid, urea, creatinine are excreted from the body through the kidneys.

Inorganic compounds (1-2%): potassium, sodium, calcium, chlorine, magnesium, phosphorus, iodine, iron and other elements of the periodic table.
