During the road work, a 5 cm thick layer of asphalt was laid on the road, what pressure does the asphalt create on the road if its density is 2000 kg / m3.

To find out the pressure created by the laid asphalt layer, we use the formula: Px = Fт / S = ma * g / S = ρa * V * g / S = ρa * S * h * g / S = ρa * h * g, where ρa – density of the laid asphalt (ρa = 2000 kg / m3); h is the thickness of the asphalt layer (h = 5 cm = 0.05 m); g – acceleration due to gravity (const; g ≈ 9.81 m / s2).

Let’s perform the calculation: Px = ρa * h * g = 2000 * 0.05 * 9.81 = 981 Pa.

Answer: The laid layer of asphalt creates a pressure of 981 Pa.
