Establish the sequence of digestion steps in mammals

Digestion in mammals can be presented in different ways and depends primarily on whether the animal eats plant or animal food. In both herbivores and carnivores, four general stages of the digestive process can be distinguished:

– mechanical processing of food takes place in the oral cavity, in addition, saliva enzymes can act on food;

– the main process of mechanical and chemical processing of food occurs in the stomach and further in the intestine;

– absorption of nutrients also occurs partly in the stomach, partly in the intestines;

– then there is the formation of feces from undigested food residues and their removal from the body.
