Explain how China became dependent on the industrial powers?

The first country to achieve China’s dependence on itself was Great Britain. Its authorities began to supply opium to the Qing empire and thereby changed the country’s balance of payments and achieved the export of silver from China, which weakened its economy, and after the Opium War of 1839-1842, the first unequal treaty was imposed on China.
Later, Japan, France, Germany, Russia and Austria joined the partition of China, and by 1900 it was divided into spheres of influence.
