Explain the importance of spores in the life cycle of mosses.

Mosses reproduce asexually, that is, without the participation of a sexual partner. There are several ways of asexual reproduction – division, budding, spore propagation, and so on. We can see at a certain period above the moss small brown shoots with a thickening at the top. These are spore boxes. Spores ripen there for some time and leave the capsules at a certain period. They are carried over long distances by the wind. They cannot be seen with the naked eye, since they are very small.
