Photosynthesis is the process of synthesizing glucose using water, carbon dioxide and the energy of sunlight. This process takes place in the chloroplasts of plant cells. This process is the basis for the production of organic substances for almost all life on Earth.
Breathing is the process of breaking down glucose into carbon dioxide and water, releasing energy. This process takes place in the mitochondria of both plant and animal cells.
These processes are opposite in their biochemical essence. It is worth remembering that photosynthesis occurs only in plant cells, but the process of respiration also takes place in them.
