Explain what allowed the colonists to remain part of a single Greek people?

Despite the fact that the Greek colonies were removed from the cities that founded them, the Greeks were one people. This was facilitated by:

1. Preservation of the native language, culture, religion, traditions, and political system by the inhabitants of the colonies.

2. Close connection with the metropolis. It was helped to support the rapid trade, constant travel of people with different goals (to see relatives, worship the gods, participate in games).

3. Disregard for barbaric traditions, language, religion. lifestyle. The Greeks considered themselves superior and did not seek to adopt something from the “lower” peoples.
