Thanks to the chest, breathing occurs. The lungs cannot expand on their own. When it is necessary to inhale, nerve impulses go to the muscles of the chest. The diaphragm expands. Due to the pressure difference, the lungs are filled with air. The physical laws of pressure difference work here. When we exhale, the opposite process occurs. The diaphragm is compressed, respectively, pressure rises in the lungs and air goes out. With a breakdown of the chest, breathing is impossible, since there is no pressure difference.
