Metals played a decisive role in the life of primitive people. It was thanks to metal that people could survive: they made weapons from metal to protect themselves from predatory animals and enemies, as well as tools with which they got their own food. Axes, spears, knives and other things primitive for us were the only way of survival for primitive people.
