Explain why it is necessary to take care of the preservation of the diversity of animal species?

Everything is interconnected: we know very little about the consequences of the extinction of a species. A tiny, obscure worm cannot do anything useful to humans. But the connections that different animal species have are important, and the extinction of one species has a domino effect that affects several other species.
