Explain why Mendel is often called the founder of genetics?

Gregor Mendel is the first who came to the conclusion that hereditary information is passed from parents from generation to generation. He was also the first to prove that the special properties of heredity are transmitted through genes. That is why science is called “genetics”. Mendel formulated three laws of genetics:
1. The law of uniformity of the first generation when crossing pure forms.
2. The law of splitting – when crossing hybrids of the first generation with each other in the offspring of the second generation, a natural splitting is observed.
3. Alleles of each gene are distributed in the offspring independently of the alleles of another gene.
