The mechanism of urine formation includes three stages:
The formation of primary urine in the glomeruli of blood vessels, which are part of the Shumlyansky capsule. Filtration of blood plasma takes place.
Secondary urine formation. It goes into the tubules of the nephron due to reabsorption (reabsorption).
The composition of the secondary urine is very different from the primary and only 2 liters of it. In the tubules of the nephron, substances are secreted that cannot pass the renal filter – drugs, potassium, dyes and other substances.
Regulation of urination occurs reflexively, the center is located in the second – fifth lumbar segments of the spinal cord.
