Mesopotamia is an ancient region where civilized life began as early as 4 thousand BC. One of the earliest prominent historical figures of this region was King Sargon II, who was able to unite the lands of Sumer and Akkad into one state. The second famous figure of this region can be called King Hammurabi. He ruled in ancient Babylon in the 18th century BC and is the creator of the legalist “Code of Hammurabi”.
