Feature of the Sarmatian-Saka society.

The peculiarity of the Sarmatian-Saka society is that the women of these peoples enjoyed great freedom. This feature was a holdover from matriarchy. They were good riders, good archery and dart throwers. They fought shoulder to shoulder alongside their husbands. Women were allowed to discuss significant issues, and could even occupy higher positions, like the Sarmatian queens Tirgatao and Amagi, the Saka queen Tomiris. Historians suggest that it was the Sarmatian and Saka women who became the prototypes of the fearless Amazons.
