Features of agriculture in the Arctic desert.

There is very little solar energy in the arctic deserts. There is a polar night here for about six months. Positive air temperature values ​​can be in this area only in the middle of summer, but this is not enough for ice and snow to melt. There are practically no open soils. During the long winter period, air temperatures drop below fifty degrees Celsius. Plants cannot grow in this climate. In such conditions, the development of agriculture is practically impossible. Here it is possible to engage only in reindeer husbandry and animal husbandry.
