German fascism defended the interests of industrial monopolists, but at the same time relied on the middle class. The Nazis sought to turn the state into a military factory, for which they constantly gave loans to large industrialists. Nazism is characterized by exorbitant imperialist ambitions, on the one hand, and racism and xenophobia, on the other. In social life, they promoted the ideals of extreme conservatism, based on the ideals of devotion to the fatherland and family hearth.
