Features of Greek architecture and sculpture

Greek architecture was distinguished by the severity of forms and the use of such decorative elements as columns, capitals, porticoes, and so on. At the same time, both religious buildings (for example, temples) and original residential buildings and public buildings were created.

Antique sculpture was intended to glorify the beauty of the human body. Therefore, most depicted gods or other heroes of myths who had ideal forms. Sculptors used marble as the main material and were among the first to introduce realistic notes into the visual arts.
