Features of the excretory system in unicellular organisms.

Both prokaryotes (archaea and bacteria) and eukaryotes (protists, plants, fungi) can be unicellular. They have many differences in their structure. Prokaryotes do not have any membrane organelles. All substances that are not needed by the body leave them through the membrane. Eukaryotes have a more advanced excretion system. Food particles also leave the body with the help of contractile vacuoles. Also, some small particles and molecules leave the protozoan organism through diffusion, simply passing through the membrane into the environment.
