Features of the external structure of mammals.

Mammals or Beasts are the Chordate class. Features of their external structure:

– the body is covered with hair (awns and undercoat);

– special hair – vibrissae, which perform the function of touch (mustache, eyebrows);

– have lips;

– there is an external ear – auricle;

– legs are located under the body (in reptiles – on the sides of the body);

– there are four types of skin glands: sebaceous, sweat, odoriferous and milk.
