The turtle’s heart is located in the front of the abdomen. It consists of three sections: two atria, one ventricle.

The turtle’s spine is divided into 5 main sections. There are 9 vertebrae in the cervical spine, two of them are mobile. The thoracic and sacral regions are connected to the ribs. The tail vertebrae are attached to the sacral region.

The turtles have no teeth, but the musculature is very powerful. There is a large, thick tongue in the mouth. The passage to the esophagus is large and wide. The turtle can swallow food in large chunks.
