Features of the Phoenician alphabet.

This ancient alphabet dates back to the 2nd century BC. The Phoenicians themselves built it on the basis of cuneiform. True, this alphabet was much easier to learn. Its striking flaw was the lack of vowels. Thus, it had only 22 consonant letters. For a long time, the Phoenicians used this alphabet. It was even borrowed by the ancient Greeks, but they wanted to improve this alphabet. Thanks to them, vowels also appeared.
