Features of the reproduction of hydra.

Hydra reproduces in 2 ways:

1) budding: a tubercle forms on her body, gradually turning into a young hydra, due to the division of intermediate cells. So it reproduces in the warm season, increasing the number of individuals.

2) sexual: occurs before the onset of cold weather and ensures the preservation of the species. On the body of the hydra, sperm cells are formed from intermediate cells closer to the tentacles, and an egg cell is formed closer to the sole. Fertilization is cross, the zygote forms a shell and turns into an egg.
