The revolution took place in February 1917.

The reasons for the revolution were:

Crisis situation in the state (lower wages, food crisis, etc.);
Government failure to deal with the situation;
The deteriorating position of the Russian army at the front (heavy losses);
Thus, a coup d’etat took place, during which the tsarist government was overthrown. Its place was taken by the Provisional Government.
