Similarity:

The dominant religion was Christianity.
The leading kingdoms were France and England.
The era of feudalism.

Differences:

In the V-XI century (until 1096) there were no Crusades.
In the 5th-11th centuries Byzantium was a fairly strong participant in European politics, and in the 12th-15th centuries its importance declined.
The second of these periods is the Renaissance and the High Middle Ages with the massive construction of castles.
In the first of these periods, there was a threat from the Arabs from the southwest, and in the 12th-15th centuries – the final stage of the Reconquista.
In the XIV-XV centuries, a Turkish threat appeared from the southeast.
In the XII-XV centuries there were more heresies.
V-XI centuries were the era of the emergence of new states, these included Poland, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, the Kingdom of the Franks, Russia, Hungary.
