Find similarities in the location and nature of Italy and ancient Greece

Italy and Greece are located in the subtropical climate zone. They are both located on peninsulas that are washed by the seas on three sides. For example, Greece is washed by the Adriatic, Aegean and Ionian seas. Italy is washed by the Ligurian, Adriatic and Mediterranean seas. Both Italy and Greece grow similar crops such as grapes and olives. Historically, they were removed from the main centers of the civilization of the Ancient World – Egypt and Mesopotamia. Italy from the north is closed by the Alps, Greece – by Mount Olympus. Useful for defense against raids by barbarians.
