Find the angle ADC of an isosceles trapezoid ABCD if the diagonal AC makes angles equal to 30 and 40 degrees with the base BC and the lateral side AB, respectively.
In triangle ABC we find angle B:
∠ В = 180 ° – (40 ° + 30 °) = 110 °.
In an isosceles trapezoid, the sum of the opposite angles is 180 °. We get:
∠ ADC = 180 ° – ∠ B = 180 ° – 110 ° = 70 °.
