Find the angles of a parallelogram if one of them is 2 times the other angle.

In order to find all the angles of a parallelogram, we will compose and solve an equation. Let’s start by looking at what is known from the condition. One of the corners of the parallelogram is 2 times larger than the other.

There are two kinds of angles in a parallelogram:

1. opposing and they have the property – are equal to each other;

2. adjacent to one side – their sum is 180 °.

In the condition we are talking about the corners adjacent to one side.

Let’s denote by x one of the corners, and the second we will denote as 2x.

x + 2x = 180;

3x = 180;

x = 180: 3;

x = 60 ° one pair of corners, 60 * 2 = 120 ° second pair of corners.
