Find the angles of the parallelogram if one of them is 5 times larger than the other.

In order to find the angles of a parallelogram, we must first of all remember what angles are in the parallelogram and their properties.

So, there are two pairs of angles in a parallelogram:

1. Opposite – their degree measures are equal to each other;

2. Angles adjacent to one side – the sum of these angles is 180 °.

It is known from the condition that one of the angles is 5 times larger than the second. Let’s denote by x ° – the smaller angle of the parallelogram and 5x ° – the larger angle.

x + 5x = 180;

6x = 180;

x = 180: 6;

x = 30 ° smaller angle and 30 * 5 = 150 ° larger angle.
