| We are given a value of 2/7 of the circumference and it is equal to 24.8 cm. In order to find the area of a circle, we must first of all find the radius of this circle.
But first of all, let’s find the length of the entire circle.
2/7 * l = 24.8;
l = 24.8 * 7/2;
l = 86.8 cm circumference.
Let’s remember the formula for finding the length through the radius.
l = 2πR;
Hence:
R = l / 2π;
R = 86.8 / (2 * 3.1) = 86.8 / 6.2 = 14 cm radius of the circle.
It remains to recall the area formula and calculate it.
S = πR ^ 2 = 3.1 * 14 ^ 2 = 3.1 * 196 = 607.6 cm2.
