The area of a circle is found by the formula:
S = πR ^ 2, where R is the radius of the circle, π is a constant, it is approximately 3.14. We substitute in this formula the value of the radius from the condition of the problem and find the area of the circle.
S = π * 9 ^ 2 = 3.14 * 81 ≈ 254.34 square centimeters.
