| A circle is an area on a plane located inside a circle.
A sector of a circle is a part of it, bounded by an arc and radii.
To calculate the area of a circular sector, apply the area formula through an angle:
S = πr2α / 360º, where:
S is the area of the circular sector;
r is the radius of the circle;
α is the central angle;
π – 3.14.
The degree measure of the central angle is equal to the degree measure of the arc on which it rests.
S = 3.14 · 122 · 120/360 = 3.14 · 144 · 120/360 = 54259.2 / 360 = 150.72 cm2.
Answer: the area of the circular sector is 150.72 cm2.
