Find the area of a right-angled triangle if its hypotenuse = 4 cm and the height drawn to it = 3 cm.

As we know from the school geometry course, one of the ways to calculate the size of the area of a triangle is the following formula:

S = (a * h): 2, where a is the side of the triangle to which the height h was drawn.

Let’s determine what the area of our triangle will be equal to, because from the condition of this task we know that the length of the hypotenuse, to which a height of 3 centimeters was drawn, is 4 centimeters:

3 * 4: 2 = 6.

Answer: Under these initial conditions, the area will be 6 cm2.
