Usually, the area of a triangle is found as the product of the side of the triangle and the height dropped by this height. But in a right-angled triangle, the area can be found using one more formula: the product of the legs, divided in half:
S = (12 * 16) / 2;
S = 192/2;
S = 96 cm².
Answer: 96 cm²
