Find the area of the trapezoid ABCD with bases AB and CD if: a) AB = 2.1m, CD = 1.7m, height DH = 0.7m

Find the area of the trapezoid ABCD with bases AB and CD if: a) AB = 2.1m, CD = 1.7m, height DH = 0.7m b) h, if S = 77cm2, CD = 13cm, and the other base AB on 4cm smaller CD

a)

Determine the area of the trapezium ABCD.

Savsd = (AB + CD) * DH / 2 = (2.1 + 1.7) * 0.7 / 2 = 1.33 cm2.

Answer: The area of the trapezoid is 1.33 cm2.

b)
Determine the length of the base AB.

AB = CD – 4 = 13 – 4 = 9 cm.

Then Savsd = 77 = (CD + AB) * AН / 2.

154 = 22 * AН.

AH = 154/22 = 7 cm.

Answer: The height of the trapezoid is 7 cm.
