Find the largest and smallest value of the function y = 5x-5 on the interval {2; 4}

We have a function:

y = 5 * x – 5.

You can determine in different ways the largest and smallest values of the function on the interval, but it should be noted right away that the slope of the straight line is greater than zero, which means that the function is increasing along the entire number line, and a larger value of the argument corresponds to a larger value of the function:

ymax = y (4) = 5 * 4 – 5 = 15;

ymin = y (2) = 5 * 2 – 5 = 5.
