Find the length of the diagonal of a rectangle if its sides are 6 and 8 units.
The diagonal of a rectangle is the hypotenuse of a right-angled triangle in it, so we can calculate the diagonal using the Pythagorean theorem:
x ^ 2 = 6 ^ 2 + 8 ^ 2
x ^ 2 = 100
x = 10 cm.
