Find the length of the segment AB if you know that AC is 7 cm, CD is twice as long as AC, and DB is 5 cm longer than CD.

Since the segment CD is twice as long as AC, then CD = 2 * AC = 2 * 7 = 14 cm. The length of the segment DB is 5 cm longer than the length of the segment CD, therefore DB = CD + 5, DB = 14 + 5 = 19 cm.The length of the segment AB is equal to: AB = AC + CD + DB = 14 + 7 + 19 = 40 cm.
