Find the mass of 2 mol of potassium nitrate
September 28, 2021 | education
| Mass formula: m = M * n. (Product of molar mass by the amount of substance).
M (KNO3) = 39 + 14 + 16 * 3 = 101 g / mol. Molar mass, expressed in g / mol, is numerically the same as molecular mass.
n = 2 mol by condition. Therefore:
m (KNO3) = M (KNO3) * n (KNO3) = 101 g / mol * 2 mol = 202 g
