Find the mass of NaCl, which is formed by the reaction of 45 g of CaCl with NaCO3.

CaCl2 + Na2CO3 = 2NaCl + CaCO3.
1) According to the periodic table, we find the molar mass of calcium chloride: 40 + 35.5 * 2 = 111.
2) Find the amount of calcium chloride substance. To do this, divide the mass of chloride by its molar mass: 45/111 = 0.41 mol.
3) According to the reaction equation, there are two moles of sodium chloride for one mole of calcium chloride. This means that the amount of sodium chloride substance is: 0.41 / 2 = 0.205 mol.
4) Molar mass of sodium chloride: 23 + 35.5 = 58.5.
5) Mass of sodium chloride: 0.205 * 58.5 = 11.99 g – answer.
