Find the measures of the angles formed by the intersection of two straight lines, if the sum of the measures of two of these angles is 80 degrees.
When two straight lines intersect, two pairs of vertical angles are formed, so we find the angles of the first pair:
80˚: 2 = 40˚.
The first angle is 40˚, let’s define the adjacent angle:
180˚ – 40˚ = 140˚.
This means that the angles of the second pair of vertical angles will be equal to 140˚.
