| From the condition it is known that the perimeter of the triangle is greater than the first side by 7 m, the second by 8 m, the third by 9 m. And we need to find the perimeter of the triangle.
We start by marking the perimeter of the triangle behind x m and then we can write the lengths of the sides as (x – 7) m, the second side (x – 8) m, and the third as (x – 9) m.
The perimeter is the sum of the lengths of all sides of the triangle.
P = a + b + c;
x – 7 + x – 8 + x – 9 = x;
We solve the equation:
3x – x = 7 + 8 + 9;
2x = 24;
x = 12 cm perimeter of the triangle.
Answer: 12 cm.
