P = a + b + c = 8 cm + b + c = 8 cm + 3 cm + c = 8 cm + 3 cm + 5 cm = 11 cm + 5 cm = 16 cm.
Answer: the perimeter of this triangle with sides of 8 cm, 3 cm and 5 cm is 16 cm.
