Find the perimeter of the triangle KMP, if the length of the KM side is 5cm8mm, the MP side is 1cm 5mm longer than the KM side, but shorter by 2cm 3mm than the PK side.

Let’s calculate the length of the side of the MР:

5 cm 8 mm + 1 cm 5 mm = (5 cm + 1 cm) + (8 mm + 5 mm) = 6 cm 13 mm = 7 cm 3 mm – the length of the MP side.

Let’s calculate the length of the side of the РK:

7 cm 3 mm + 2 cm 3 mm = (7 cm + 2 cm) + (3 mm + 3 mm) = 9 cm 6 mm – length of the side of the РK.

The formula for the perimeter of a triangle is:

P = a + b + c = KM + MР + РK.

Let’s calculate the perimeter of the triangle:

P = 5 cm 8 mm + 7 cm 3 mm + 9 cm 6 mm = (5 cm + 7 cm + 9 cm) + (8 mm + 3 mm + 6 mm) = 21 cm 17 mm = 22 cm 7 mm – perimeter triangle CMР.

Answer: the perimeter of the KMР triangle is 22 cm 7 mm.
