# Find the perimeter of two squares if the perimeter of each square is 32 cm.

January 13, 2021 | education

| By condition, it turns out that both squares will be connected by one common side, and the length of this side must be subtracted from the perimeter of two squares.

Determine the side length of each square – divide their perimeter by four:

32: 4 = 8 cm.

Therefore, to find the perimeter of the resulting figure, subtract the length of this side from the perimeter of each square and add the perimeters of the squares:

32 – 8 + 32 – 8 = 2 * (32 – 8) = 2 * 26 = 52 cm.

Answer: the perimeter of the resulting figure is 52 cm.
