| In order to find the coordinates of the points of intersection of the graph of the function, which is given by the equation y = -2x + 7 with the coordinate axes, we will solve two linear equations.
1) And we will start by finding the point of intersection of the chart with the OX axis; y = 0;
-2x + 7 = 0;
Move 7 from the left to the right side of the equation.
-2x = -7;
Divide both sides of the equation by -2 and get:
x = -7: (-2);
x = 3.5;
Point with coordinates (3,5; 0).
2) Find the point of intersection of the chart with the OY axis; x = 0;
y (0) = -2 * 0 + 7;
y = 7.
Point with coordinates (0; 7).
