Let the base a = 20 cm and side b = 12 cm. Find area S.

S = a * n / 2, where n is the height to the base a. We define n = √ [in ^ 2 – (a / 2) ^ 2] = √ [12 ^ 2 – (20/2) ^ 2] = √ (144 – 100) = √44.

Let’s define the area S = a * n / 2 = 20 * √44 / 2 = 10√44 = 10 * 2 * √10.

Answer: 20√10.
