| 1. The tops of the parallelogram – A, B, C, D. The perimeter (P) of the parallelogram = 72 cm. AB is 3 times less than AD.
2. AB is 3 times less than AD. Therefore, AD = 3AB.
3.Considering that the sides of the parallelogram opposite each other are equal, the perimeter of this geometric figure is calculated by the formula:
P = 2 (AB + AD) = 72 cm.
AB + AD = 36 cm. Substitute in this expression 3AB instead of AD:
AB + 3AB = 36 cm.
4AB = 36 cm.
AB = 9 cm.
AD = 3AB = 3 x 9 = 27 cm.
Answer: AB = CD = 9 cm, AD = BC = 27 cm.
